An air ambulance attended a ‘medical incident’ at a North East village yesterday.
Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) confirmed they deployed their critical care response team to High Spen in Gateshead at 9:24am on Friday (April 26).
They added their crew arrived on the scene within 16 minutes.
They said their team worked with North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) to stabilise the patient.
A spokesperson for GNAAS said: “This morning at 9.24am, our North East-based critical care team responded to reports of a medical incident in High Spen, Gateshead.
“Pilot JJ flew paramedic Jamie and Dr Mike to the scene within 16 minutes, and the team quickly got to work on assisting the team at North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.

“Once the patient had been stabilised, our doctor-led team accompanied them to hospital by road ambulance, where JJ joined them.
“As soon as the handover at hospital was complete, the team made the journey back to base, where they landed at 10.57am.”
A spokesman for North East Ambulance Service said: "We were called yesterday morning to attend a medical incident at a private address.
"We dispatched the air ambulance, a paramedic crew and a rapid response paramedic, who treated one patient."
