Police have confirmed that the body of a man was found nearby a seaside hotel earlier this week.
Emergency services were called to Redcar on Monday (May 13) following news that a body was found on the beach nearby the Claxton Hotel.
The man has since been identified and his family have been informed.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
A statement said: "Police were called around 1:20pm on Monday 13th May, after a man’s body was found on the beach in Redcar, near the Claxton Hotel.
"The man has been identified and his family has been informed. Our thoughts are with them at this very sad time.
"His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the Coroner."
